Since 1923, when Dr. Biggerstaff and Dr. Moore began collecting items important to Wabash County in the basement of the Courthouse, the idea of local history has been in the forefront of our community.
Now, almost a century later, the Museum is no longer housed in the basement of the Courthouse but rather in a state of the art 30,000 square foot facility located in historic downtown Wabash.
Each year the Museum welcomes more than 20,000 guests to our facility, including 5,000 students from schools throughout 6 counties in Northeast Indiana.
The Museum also houses a collection of more than 175,000 artifacts, and that collection grows daily. These items hold the stories of our ancestors and the work that has made Wabash County an amazing county to work, live and play in!
None of this would be possible without our committed and amazing donors JUST LIKE YOU! The Museum is a private non-profit and therefore depends on the generosity of individual and corporate donors to ensure we can continue to deliver high quality local history programming.
