Join us for coffee, donuts, and conversation as Sarah E. Siders-Bitzel, Miami Nation of Indians (Indiana) Tribal Secretary & Mongosa Family Rep shares about the history of the Miami Indians in this area.
Sarah is a member of the Miami Nation of Indians of the State of Indiana (MNI), serving as Mongosa Claners. During her childhood, she attended a myriad of traditional events with her grandmother, Lora E. (Marks) Siders who served as the Miami Nation of Indians of the State of Indiana (MNI) Tribal Secretary for over 40 years, as well as Tribal Historian. She is a member of the Miami Nation of Indians of the State of Indiana (MNI), serving as Mongosa Clan Grandfather Representative Tribal Council since 2002 and as MNI Tribal Secretary since 2003. She alsoserves on the MNI Language Committee, MNI Culture Committee, Godfroy Cemetery Committee, Clayton Cemetery Committee, MNI Museum Committee, MNI Foundation Board, Days at the Pillars Committee, and a founding member of the MNI Women’s Council. Sarah currently resides in Peru with her husband, John, and is employed by the Miami Nation of Indians
of the State of Indiana.
